The cases of coronavirus are increasing on a steady note and the active cases too have seen a sudden rise. A total number of 18930 new cases of coronavirus are reported in India in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases climbed to 4,35,66,739. There are 1,19,457 active cases currently and the total number of recoveries climbed to 4,29,21,977. 35 people passed away in the last one day and the total number of deaths climbed to 5,25,305. The total number of vaccine doses administered in India in total are said to be 1,98,33,18,772 and the vaccinations taken yesterday are said to be 11,44,489.
14650 people recovered in the last 24 hours in India and 4,38,005 tests are conducted yesterday. Cases saw a sudden rise in Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. There are reports that a new variant BA.2.75 is detected in India and this is the reason for the rise in the cases of Covid-19 in the country. WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan revealed the news. The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed about the new variant in India. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that they are following the development. The other variants found in Europe and America are BA.4 and BA.5.
