A total number of 15,102 new cases of coronavirus are reported in India in the last 24 hours and the total cases reported in the country reached 4,28,67,031. A total number of 31,377 people recovered in the last 24 hours and the total number of recoveries climbed to 4,21,89,887. 278 people passed away in India in the last 24 hours taking the total death tally to reach 5,12,622. There are 1,64,522 active cases in India and they are equal to 0.38 percent pf the total cases. The daily positivity rate is said to be 1.28 percent. The total number of vaccination doses given in the country till date are said to be 1,76,19,39,020 and the doses given yesterday are said to be 33,84,744.

As per the reports from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total samples tested in the country till date are 76,23,09,362 and the samples tested yesterday are 11,83,438. There is a reduction of 16,553 cases are reported in a span of 24 hours. The national recovery rate is said to be 98.42 percent. West Bengal reported 236 new cases of coronavirus and 9 deaths. The health experts said that the Omicron variant is no longer severe and the predictions of several scientists went wrong. Over 10.98 crore doses of the coronavirus vaccinations are available with the states and union territories which are unused.
