Rajya Sabha releases Code of Conduct before Budget Sessions

Just before the commencement of the budget sessions in the Parliameent, Rajya Sabha Secretariat released a Code of Conduct for all the members. The direction for the same came from M Venkaiah Naidu, the Chairman of Upper House. The official statement wanted the members to follow the rules completely and work diligently for the good of the people. They must hold in high esteem the Constitution, the Law, Parliamentary Institutions and above all the general public. The members of Rajya Sabha should not do anything that disrupts the house and affects the credibility. The members should utilize the time for the well-being of the people.

"The members should resolve their conflicts that their private interests are subordinated. The private financial interests of the members should not come in conflict with the public interest. They should resolve the conflict without disturbing the public interest. The members should not involve in taking any gifts or fee or benefit of vote. They can accept incidental gifts. They should not disclose the information for advancing their personal interests and they should be done as per the rules. The members should not support the cause with little language" told the statement. Twelve opposition members of Rajya Sabha have been suspended from the Winter Session by Chairman Venkaiah Naidu.
