BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Monday hit out at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi saying he was insulting BR Ambedkar by taking credit for enacting laws and giving rights to the people. Modi's statement comes on the 123rd birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, the chief architect of Indian Constitution.

The Gujarat chief minister stated that people who claim to be giving rights or laws to the country are insulting Ambedkar. Such credits are taken by people who are ignorant about the constitution and do it for political reasons, added Modi.

Modi's comments come following claims by the Congress and Rahul Gandhi that UPA government brought Right to Food, Right to Information and Right to Education to the people in India.
