On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi again encouraged people to help lower fuel usage in India due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia. He suggested that schools think about using online teaching methods that became popular during the Covid-19 pandemic. After proposing flexible working options like working from home for office staff, Modi asked some schools to organize online classes to help cut down on fuel consumption. During the lockdowns of the Covid-19 pandemic, online education became widespread across India and many other parts of the world when schools changed to home learning. While speaking at an event in Vadodara, Gujarat, where he opened the Sardardham Hostel, Modi recommended that schools could look into adopting those same strategies again. “I would also ask some schools to make plans for online classes," he stated. “The West Asia crisis is one of the worst we have seen in the last ten years; just like we overcame the Covid-19 pandemic, we will also get through this," the Prime Minister reassured everyone while addressing the audience.

Emphasizing the importance of technology in cutting down fuel use, he urged for a greater use of virtual meetings and remote work in both the public and private sectors. The Prime Minister made this strong appeal from Telangana, asking everyone to take shared responsibility in easing the pressure on the country’s resources. Restating his message in Vadodara amidst rising tensions in West Asia, Modi pointed out that India cannot stay “unaffected" during these challenging times caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, economic issues, and the crisis in that region. “We all need to unite and do our part to lessen the load on the country’s resources. India spends a huge amount of money to import many goods from other countries. At the same time, the cost of these imported products is going up, and global supply chains are severely affected. Just like every drop fills a pot, every little and big effort counts,” he highlighted.
