On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the conclusion of Maha Kumbh 2025 in a blog entry, referring to it as the “Maha Yagya of Unity.” The extensive 45-day religious celebration wrapped up with the ‘Shahi Snan’ on Mahashivratri. On February 5, he performed a ritual bathing at the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers converge. He stated, "The Maha Kumbh has reached its end. This Maha Yagya of unity has completed. After overcoming centuries of a slave mindset, when the nation begins to rise with newfound awareness, the vibrant scenes witnessed in Prayagraj since January 13 are a testament to that awakening."
Reflecting on the significant consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which he attended the previous year, PM Modi remarked, "On January 22, 2024, I discussed themes of devotion and nationalism. The Maha Kumbh saw the convergence of numerous deities, sages, children, the elderly, women, and youth— showcasing the awakened consciousness of our nation." He further expressed, "This Maha Kumbh symbolized unity, with the beliefs of 140 crore Indians coming together throughout this festival."

The prime minister regarded the Maha Kumbh as a valuable case study for management and policy professionals, commending the Yogi Adityanath administration for their efforts. He noted, “As a representative from Uttar Pradesh, I take pride in the collaboration between the people and the administration led by Yogi Adityanath that contributed to the success of this event. In this instance, both the central and state authorities acted not as rulers, but as dedicated ‘sevak’ during the Maha Kumbh. Everyone put forth their utmost effort to ensure its success." He also acknowledged the perseverance of the people of Prayagraj during challenging conditions over the 45 days, saying it is commendable. "I extend my gratitude to the residents of Prayagraj and the state of Uttar Pradesh," he added. As reported by the Uttar Pradesh government, more than 66.21 crore devotees participated in the sacred bathing at the Triveni during Mahakumbh 2025.
