Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Poland in the last 45 years. Modi landed in Warsaw yesterday, and after Poland's tour, he will go to Ukraine's capital Kyiv. In 1979, Moraji Desai was the last prime minister to visit Poland. Modi received a warm welcome from the Indian community with chants, “Modi, Modi, Modi”. Modi visited the memorial in Warsaw, commemorating during the 1940 World War II. Modi will also meet Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Sebastian Duda. He will also address a huge Indian gathering, expected of around 25,000 and will also meet Polish business leaders and also prominent leaders. Narendra Modi interacted with Poland President Duba in March 2022 to thank him for helping in the evacuation of Indians from Ukraine. Poland has given relaxments for visas for Indian citizens to cross Poland from the war zone. Nearly 4000 Indian students were evacuated via Poland in 2022.

“Our bilateral trade is substantial. And it's of the order of US$6 billion, which makes Poland India's largest trading partner in Central and Eastern Europe. Indian investments in Poland are estimated at around US$3 billion. And the Polish investments into India are around US$1 billion." He also said that India at the time of COVID-19 helped other countries, and we believe in Buddha’s tradition and peace, not war. Modi is also the first prime minister to visit Ukraine since the country became independent in 1991. Modi is about to share the peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict. Modi is visiting Ukraine after his six-week trip to Russia. His visit to both Ukraine and Russia is raising criticism from the USA and also from some Western allies.
Narendra Modi while addressing the Indian diaspora said that now India is being considered as the ‘Vishwabandhu’. He questioned the crowd, whether they even felt the same or not. Modi also stated that India maintains equal closeness with all nations.According to an ANI report, Modi said, “For decades, India had a policy to maintain distance from all the countries. However, the policy of today's India is to have equal closeness with all countries. The India of today wants to connect with all. Today's India talks about the development of all. Today's India is with all and thinks about the interests of all. "We are proud that today, the world respects India as 'Vishwabandhu'. You also feel the same here.
