Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a review meeting to assess the security landscape in Jammu and Kashmir. In the past four days, four clashes occurred between security personnel and terrorists. The Prime Minister communicated with Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, receiving a comprehensive update on the security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the Union Territory. According to sources, the Prime Minister has instructed the authorities to fully utilize the armed forces' counter-terror capabilities. He discussed the deployment of security forces and counter-terror operations with Mr. Shah. Additionally, the Prime Minister spoke with Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, reviewing the efforts being made by the local administration. Just yesterday, a new encounter in Doda district resulted in a soldier being wounded, marking the second attack in Doda and the fourth in the Union Territory within the past 96 hours or four days.

In a recent incident, a clash erupted between security forces and terrorists in the Kathua region, located in the southern part of the area. A senior police official reported that a group of three to four terrorists had been spotted in the higher elevations of Doda, and a search operation was underway to neutralize them in the challenging terrain. The confrontation resulted in injuries to five Rashtriya Rifles soldiers and a special police officer on Tuesday night, as the terrorists attacked a joint checkpost in the upper reaches of Chattergalla, along the Bhaderwah-Pathankot road in the hilly district. Additional reinforcements have been dispatched to the area to strengthen the security cordon. This was the second terror-related incident in Doda within the last 24 hours, and the fourth such event in three days across Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier on Tuesday evening, five Rashtriya Rifles personnel and a Special Police Officer were injured in a separate terrorist attack in the Chattargalla Pass. In another incident late on Tuesday, a suspected Pakistani terrorist was killed by security forces in Kathua district. The overnight encounter ended with the elimination of a second terrorist on Wednesday. Tragically, a CRPF soldier lost his life during the operation.
