India is one of the most populated countries of the globe. The coronavirus pandemic had a huge impact all over the country and there is a huge shortage of vaccinations as the production is quite less than the demand. The Centre failed to meet the expectations and the warning for the vaccinations is rising. There is urgency to bring the foreign vaccines like Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson. The health experts warned of a third wave of coronavirus and the country is now in need of more vaccines from other countries to boost up the vaccination drive in the country. The supply will remain as a high priority and the Indian government is negotiating with the foreign manufacturers currently.

Indian vaccination Covaxin is yet to receive the full clearance and it has applied for WHO approval and this will take some more time. Johnson and Johnson said that it is conducting bridging trials. Indian government hinted that Pfizer doses are expected to arrive in India in July. Serum Institute of India is currently conducting bridging trials for Covovax and they are expected to end by November. The third phase data of Zydus Cadila is expected to be submitted soon. The trials of Biological E reached final stages and a clarity is expected in July or August. The doses of Covaxin and Covishield are not enough for the population of the country. Sputnik V is currently manufactured and the doses are expected to be out in a month. All these foreign vaccines can boost the vaccination drive in India.
