A slight decline in the Coronavirus daily tally

After the daily tally of cases for coronavirus in India crossed 4 lakh mark, the number witnessed a small decline in the last 24 hours. A total number of 3,57,229 new cases are reported in the country in the last 24 hours in the country and the daily tally crossed 2 crore mark. The total cases reported officially in the country are 2,02,82,833 and the total number of recoveries are 1,66,13,292 as per the reports coming from the Union Health Ministry. 3449 people passed away in the country in the last one day and the total death toll mounted to 2,22,408. There are 34,47,133 active cases for coronavirus in the country and a total number of 15,89,32,921 people got vaccinated in the country in total till date.

With the sudden rise in the number of coronavirus cases, Bihar imposed a complete lockdown in the state till May 15th. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh accounted to 71.71 percent of the total reported caseload in the daily tally of coronavirus. A PIL has been filed in the Bombay High Court about the postponement of IPL 2021 and the court will hear the PIL on Thursday. The Indian government so far provided 16.69 crore doses of vaccinations for the states and union territories for free of cost. Telangana reported 6876 new cases of coronavirus in the state along with 59 deaths.
