Secretary General of United State John Kerry has escaped a horrific accident; Mr Kerry's vehicle was one of those caught up in the crash in Ahmedabad while going to airport, but there were no injuries.

"During the drive to the airport in Ahmedabad, India, two cars in the motorcade had a minor traffic accident resulting in some damage to both cars," spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement.

Mr Kerry participated in Vibrant Gujarat Summit, an international investment conference, and he is looking after the preparations for President Barack Obama's trip for the Republic Day celebrations this month.

John Kerry is scheduled to visit Pakistan for two days from today and he will have a dialogue with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as well as other high officials. But after severe criticism for not joining Sunday's Paris march, Kerry headed to Paris. The crash resulted in some damage to both cars, one of which was substituted, and the motorcade continued its journey to the airport.
