Singer Taylor Swift credits her life's biggest mistakes have led to her "greatest career triumphs".
The 24-year-old has gone through her share of life's ups and downs, and she admits the hurdles have taught her a lot, reports eonline.com.
"As much as I would really like to have saved myself heartache, embarrassment or gossip, I also know that my biggest mistakes have turned into my best lessons and sometimes my greatest career triumphs," she said in ASOS magazine.
She also credits the negativity she's suffered for helping her grow as a songwriter.
"If my life had been turbulence free, no bumps in the road at all, maybe my music would be more beige," she continued.
Some of Swift's huge hit singles, including "Trouble," "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "Back to December," have been linked to the singer's famous ex-boyfriends such as One Direction's Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mayer.
But while she might not be lucky in the love department, Swift has formed strong friendships with a few famous faces in the industry.
A lot of 'celebrities' surround themselves with these very chic cling-ons who don't really have much of a job or a passion. They follow around their celebrity BFF (best friends forever) and provide constant affirmation for them and I'm really not interested in that kind of deal," she added.
