Congress Chief and President Sonia Gandhi has been charging allegations of money laundering in the National Herald Case. Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi have been served notices for the same. Rahul Gandhi appeared before the officials of the Enforcement Directorate for five days and he was drilled for 50 hours in the case. Sonia Gandhi was down with Covid-19 and she was admitted to a private hospital in the national capital. Sonia Gandhi recovered completely and she has been discharged. Her investigation got delayed as she was ill. The Enforcement Directorate officials have summoned Sonia Gandhi again and she has been asked to appear before ED on July 21st.
The officials will question Sonia Gandhi in relation to the transactions in the National Herald issue. Sonia Gandhi was asked to appear before the agency on June 23rd but it got delayed due to her health issues. She will be questioned about the deal between the Associated Journals Ltd and Young India. Rahul Gandhi earlier said that it was Motilal Vora who took care of the finances and other issues. Vora holds a 12 percent stake in National Herald. Prior to Rahul Gandhi, Pawan Bansal and Mallikarjuna Kharge have been questioned by the officials of the Enforcement Directorate. Now all eyes are focused on Sonia Gandhi's investigation.
