Congress President Sonia Gandhi lashed out the Centre for the border issues with China after the Indian government refused to allow talks about the issue in the Parliament house. Sonia Gandhi said that the silence on the issue will be of a serious concern as it is a threat for the nation. During her address in the Congress Parliamentary party meeting, Sonia Gandhi accused the Centre for tampering the judiciary and she called it as a trouble for new development. "Why is China keen to stage an attack on us? What are the preparations done by the Centre to defend the attacks of China? What more needs to be done has to be discussed? What is the policy of the Indian government to face China in the future?" questioned Sonia Gandhi.

She said that the Indian government has severe trade deficit with China and its imports. Sonia Gandhi also questioned about the diplomatic outreach to the global community. The Parliament houses had heated discussions about the clash on the Line of Actual Control in Tawang region after there were attacks between the troops of India and China. All the opposition parties including Congress walked out after their request of demand for discussion on the military standoff was neglected and ignored. The opposition leaders slammed the Centre for not responding about the biggest issue faced at the border of the country. Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded about the Pegasusu spyware and he objected to the allegation made by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi saying that it was reckless politics.
