The second wave of coronavirus is yet to calm down and close to 40,000 cases are reported per day in the country. World Health Organisation Chief Scientist Dr Soumya Swaminathan said that the coronavirus in India will soon be entering into the endemic stage and there is a low or moderate level of transmission that is going on. This is the stage when the population comes to learn about the virus. Soumya Swaminathan expressed her confidence that the technical group of WHO will be satisfied to issue the clearance of Covaxin. Soumya Swaminathan said that the clearance will be issued in the mid of September.

"The immunity status is different in the country considering the size and the population density of India. It is very feasible and the country will witness several ups and downs in the coming days. India will soon enter into the stage of endemicity and the transmission will be low or moderate. We will not see the peaks of coronavirus in the country. The vaccine coverage plays a crucial role in the pandemic in the future in the country. India will achieve 70 percent of the coronavirus vaccination by the end of 2022. It is then the country will have normalcy returned. About the coronavirus in children, the parents need not panic. " told Soumya Swaminathan.
