Fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi has been absconding from the country and he fled to Antigua and Barbuda. Nirav Modi was caught in London and the process of extradition reached the final stages. Mehul Choksi fled from Antigua recently and reached the neighboring country Dominica. He was captured in the country after an Interpol Yellow Notice was issued. The cops of Dominica caught Mehul Choksi on Tuesday as per their local time after the Antigua and Barbuda issued an Interpol Yellow Notice. The discussions are on about handing over Mehul Choksi to the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda as per the media reports. Mehul Choksi is living in Antigua since 2018 after he acquired the country's citizenship.

Mehul Choksi is wanted for India in the Punjab National Bank fraud case of Rs 13,500 crores along with Nirav Modi. His lawyer confirmed that Mehul Choksi was missing since Sunday and was not traced. Indian government officials are in touch with the government of Antigua in the extradition of Mehul Choksi after he fled from the country. Mehul Choksi acquired the citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda in the year 2017 through the Citizenship by Investment program and he escaped from India in January 2018. The Indian government kept all its efforts to extradite Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi.
