Sitaram Yechury's son passes away due to Coronavirus

Senior politician and CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury is shattered after his elder son Ashish Yechury passed away due to coronavirus today morning. Ashish was admitted in Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon and is recovering well. His health condition deteriorated and he passed away at 5:30 AM after two weeks of battle. Ashish Yechury completed his education in Asian College of Journalism, Chennai and worked in various leading publications of the country. Sitaram Yechury issued a statement about the demise of his son today through his official twitter handle.

"It is with great sadness that I have to inform that I lost my elder son, Ashish Yechury to COVID-19 this morning. I want to thank all those who gave us hope and who treated him - doctors, nurses, frontline health workers, sanitation workers and innumerable others who stood by us" posted Sitaram Yechury on his twitter page. Several politicians expressed their condolences to Sitaram on the sudden loss of his son. Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded on the demise and he posted "Condolences to Shri Sitaram Yechury Ji and his family on the tragic and untimely demise of his son, Ashish. Om Shanti".

Ashish is about to turn 35 years this June. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee consoled the death of Ashish Yechury. CPI (M) released a statement announcing the demise of Ashish and expressed their condolences for the family of Sitaram Yechury. Rest in peace Ashish Yechury.
