PM Narendra Modi on Saturday held an extensive meeting on ways to boost the toy sector and urged the youngsters to focus on it.

During a meeting with officials and senior ministers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that toys can be an excellent way to boost the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat’.

In a series of tweets on his official handle, PM Modi expressed that the central government’s focus would be to support the sector and ensure physical fitness and holistic personality development through toys developed for this cause.

He said that India is a home to many toy clusters and artisans who are capable of making toys that help to strengthen the life skills of people and also further the psychomotor learning among children.

PM also mentioned he discussed with the officials how the latest technology can be harnessed in the toy manufacturing sector.

He further said that educational institutions can organize hackathons on the toy innovations and making sure the toys being built are environment friendly is the country’s primary concern.

While stressing on enhancing the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat, PM Modi stressed that centre and states must look at ways to showcase Indian civilization’s greatness through the toys that are made in the country.

He added that the successful toy sector in the country can also fulfill the dream of Atmanirbhar Bharat or Self Reliant India

The official statement from the meeting said that the impact of toys on the cognitive skills of the children and how it can become a means for societal change thereby helping to shape the further generation has also been discussed.

The statement quoted that PM urged the making of toys aligned with India’s rich culture and heritage and they must be used as pedagogical tools across Anganwadi centers and schools for all-round development of children.

Laying emphasis on how fast the digital gaming arena is growing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to develop digital games and lead the international gaming sector by developing games that are inspired by Indian culture and folk tales. Modi also said that India should tap the huge potential in this area.

Experts say that Modi’s move on enhancing the toy sector comes as another move the Indian government to combat China and its products. Indian markets are flooded with cheap Chinese toys. India must get rid of China in every sector possible and make way for Atma Nirbhar Bharat or become self-reliant in every way.

India has already boycotted many Chinese goods and apps which comes as a big blow to the latter country.
