PM Modi Says, India Will Have First COVID Vaccine Doses Within Weeks

PM Modi held an all party meeting on Friday to discuss the COVID pandemic situation in India.The meeting also included the discussion about the vaccine procurement. The update from the meeting is that vaccine will be available in India within few weeks.

PM Narendra Modi spoke about the pricing of the vaccine which would be decided on the public interests.The price of the vaccine will also be based on the deliberations of the state governments.

COVID vaccine may cause side effects like any other common and popular medicine. Side effects are common during the medications and treatments, said Modi. Another caution from the meeting was against the rumours about vaccine. Leaders were asked to take the responsibility to bring awareness about vaccination.

Modi said the eight vaccine are under developing process and would be manufactured in India. He took the names of three of the eight vaccines which are home grown. Then he added saying that “rollout of the vaccines will be as soon as the scientists wave the green flag”.

During the all party meeting, PM Modi said that government set the prioritization plan in which health care workers, front line workers and the elderly people come first. All the vaccine policies are based on the scientific and experts advice. The policies showed the good results in controlling the outbreak of virus, treatment and lower the death toll. Hence, the same will continue further.

He said “India has vaccine distribution expertise and capacity. We are far better than several other countries in this regard We have a vast and experienced vaccination network and the country will capitalise on these advantages”

Covin is a special software developed from India which shows the real time information availability and storage of the vaccine. Pm Modi described about the software and said that we have a special task force for vaccine research and it is includes the technical experts, officials from ministers and the officers from each zone.

The political parties who joined the all party meeting are Congress, Trinamool Congress, DMK, YSR Congress, JD(U), BJD, Shiv Sena, TRS, BSP, SP, AIADMK, NCP, JD(S) and BJP. All the party leaders have committed to support for efficiency and faster vaccination.
