China got a strict response from India after it raised the Kashmir issue at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

India has given a strict warning to its counterpart China after it raised the Kashmir issue not only at the UNSC but also in its daily Foreign Ministry pressers. The Chinese action of August 5 coincides with the first anniversary of the dissolution of special status of Jammu and Kashmir by India.

Responding to China raising Kashmir issue at an informal meet at UNSC, the Ministry of External Affairs said that they have noted that China had initiated a discussion in the UN Security council on issues pertaining to Indian Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

This is not the first time when China has raised Indian matters unofficially at different platforms.

The ministry added that China’s raising of Indian matters which are solely related to them was done to meet support from the International community. The ministry also said that China’s interference in internal matters pertaining to India and urged China to draw proper conclusions from such in fructuous attempts.

China had raised the Kashmir issue under Any Other Business format which is something which no one can prevent from discussing. It is also to be noted that developments in Hong Kong were raised by the US and other members of UNSC under the same format irking China.

Moreover, China’s and Pakistan’s actions looked coordinated on the first anniversary of removal of special status of Kashmir. On Wednesday, the Chinese Foreign ministry responding to a question from Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) on Kashmir called India removing special status as invalid and illegal.

The Chinese Foreign ministry says that China pays higher attention to the Kashmir issue and said that any unilateral damage to the status quo is illegal and invalid. This issue should be properly resolved peacefully through a dialogue and consultations between the parties concerned.

New Delhi, while paying heed to these comments had reacted sharply to it. The MEA said that the Chinese side has no locus standi whatsoever on this matter and is asked not to comment on the internal matters of the country.

The developments on China talking about Jammu and Kashmir come in a time when China’s aggressiveness on India is growing at the LAC in the eastern Ladakh. The June 15 incident at the India China border has seen the ties between the two countries reach a low level as 20 Indian soldiers have lost their lives in the war between the troops.

While China too has bore the brunt of its actions at the border, it chose to keep silent on the number of casualties in their troops.
