With the verdicts swinging fast in favor of Bharatiya Janata Party in State Assembly Elections 2013, setting the premise for the big Lok Sabha General Elections 2014, social networking sites like Facebook are abuzz with discussions on the changing face of politics in India.
And none but BJP's top Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi seems to be hogging all the limelight there.
The NaMo mania seems to have engulfed Facebook too, with Gujarat Chief Minister emerging as the most talked about person on the social site. Modi has outraced cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, India's Mars mission and Apple iconic device iPhone 5s to become the most mentioned person on Facebook this year.
Facebook, which claims to have 1.19 billion monthly active users (MAUs), has 82 million MAUs in India for the quarter ending June 31, 2013.
"Take a look at the most mentioned people and events of 2013, which point to some of the most popular topics in India," Facebook said in a statement.
