A high-flying, star-studded 2-days long birthday bash has been planned for Nita Ambani who turns 50 this Dhanteras, i.e., November 1. Celebrations kick off on a grand scale from today.
Thirty-two chartered planes flew guests from across the world to Jodhpur yesterday ahead of the grand bash to be hosted in the Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel and Balsamand Lake Palace in the Blue City.
According to sources close to the family, “Nita will cut the cake at the Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel immediately after the strike of midnight on Thursday, following performances by music maestro A.R. Rahman, and Bollywood actors Karisma Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Juhi Chawla.”
A Laxmi Puja is due for Friday at Balsamand Lake Palace that will be followed by a dance programme choreographed by Bollywood choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant.
The 250 names long guest-list consists of who's who of B-Town Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, singer Sonu Nigam as well as former Jodhpur royal and Umaid Bhawan owner Gaj Singh II and his family.
Ambani's fellow tycoons such as the Mahindras, Birlas, Godrejs and Mittals, and members of their IPL team, Mumbai Indians have also been invited.
Around 135 luxury cars, including BMWs and Jaguars, will bring guests from Delhi airport o Jodhpur.
The chartered planes will be parked in Delhi, Udaipur and Jaipur airports because of limited space at Jodhpur airport.
