From dining table conversations to lounge bar chats, everyone seems to be talking about just one thing now - the best New Year Party of 2014.

Going by the latest surveys by travel websites, it seems most people in India will bump into each other in Goa - the top New Year destination in India.

While the beach destination is the top choice for holiday-goers this year, places like Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Jaipur also rank among the top five. The hill station Munnar comes second, with the desert destinations closing in the top five.

International destinations like Dubai, Bangkok and Singapore are also among hot favorites for holidaymakers.

"Across the globe New Year is the time for people to let their hair down, unwind and have fun. As the celebratory cheers heighten in the last month of the year, most people plan the much awaited year-end holidays around this time," says Nikhil Ganju, Country Manager, TripAdvisor.

"With its combination of beaches, heritage, water sports, Yoga resorts, great dining options and all night parties, it's no wonder that Goa remains the undisputed destination of choice for Indians to bring in a new year. On a personal note, I've been going there every new year for the 11 years now, and I still look forward to it," adds Ganju.
