Actor Robert De Niro recently revealed his father Robert De Niro Sr. was gay. The Hollywood star said that he discovered this years later after his parents separated. His parents had separated when he was only a toddler.
The 70-year-old actor has made a documentary on his father titled 'Remembering the Artist: Robert De Niro Sr'. It would be premiered on June 9 in the HBO.
De Niro's father was an abstract expressionist painter. He had passed away in 1993.
The actor said that his father was very private and never talked about it. But he was full of love and affection. He took the actor to movies like 'King Kong', 'Beauty and the Beast' on 42nd Street. But he was not the baseball playing dad, added De Niro.
De Niro wants his children to know their grandfather and his lifestyle. So he went ahead and made the documentary on his life.
