On Tuesday, Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, commended the Indian military for their efforts in Operation Sindoor, which commenced the previous month with the aim of targeting terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the lethal incident that occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22. "This year, during Operation Sindoor, our courageous servicemen and women stood resolutely. They did not seek recognition or medals; they acted out of a sense of duty," Mr. Adani shared during the 33rd annual general meeting for Adani Group shareholders. "Their bravery serves as a reminder that peace is not freely given; it must be earned. The ability to dream, to construct, and to lead rests squarely on those who safeguard us. Operation Sindoor demonstrated that India understands the significance of peace, but should someone challenge us, we can respond effectively," he further remarked.
Mr. Adani expressed that he feels "humbled by the quiet sacrifices" of those who protect India's "borders, families, and dignity." He mentioned that drones from Adani Defence played a crucial role in Operation Sindoor. "When called upon for Operation Sindoor, Adani Defence answered promptly. Our drones served as both the watchful eyes above and the instruments of attack, while our anti-drone technologies provided protection for our soldiers and citizens. As I have always maintained, we do not function in secure areas. We are active in the places where India needs us the most," he noted. Mr. Adani also paid his respects to the victims of the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner tragedy in Ahmedabad on June 12, which resulted in the deaths of over 250 individuals, including all 241 passengers aboard, shortly after the flight took off to London.
"We lower our heads in sorrow for those lost in the unfortunate Air India flight crash. Countless dreams were extinguished in a moment. So many families were irrevocably altered," he stated. "Hence, let us carry both our thankfulness and our sorrow as a reminder of what is truly important," he concluded.
