Google has officially opened 'Ananta,' which stands as one of its largest offices worldwide, located in Mahadevapura, Bengaluru. This extensive facility covers 1.6 million square feet and was built by Bagmane Tech Park over a duration of six years, with tailored modifications completed in just 11 months. The space has the capacity to house more than 5,000 employees, marking a notable increase as Google's workforce in India has reached approximately 10,000. The term "Ananta," derived from Sanskrit, signifies "infinite" or "limitless." Each level of the building is designed in a city-grid format, featuring team-oriented "neighborhoods" and a central gathering area designed in an amphitheater style, named Sabha. Emphasizing sustainability, the campus boasts one of the largest smart glass systems in India to minimize energy consumption, ensures the recycling of all its wastewater, and incorporates rainwater harvesting techniques. Reflecting Bengaluru's lush landscape, it includes landscaped areas, pathways for walking and jogging, and the 'Aranya' forest, which serves as a sound barrier. The building is constructed using materials sourced locally. Furthermore, it includes new tactile flooring designed to assist visually impaired individuals with navigation, along with other accessible features and Braille signage.

Marking two decades of presence in India, Google has been instrumental in driving digital transformation through initiatives powered by AI. These include flood prediction, early detection of tuberculosis, and facilitating financial inclusion with Google Pay. Ananta is integral to these efforts, enhancing Google's influence both in India and on a global scale. "As India embarks on an ambitious technological journey for its citizens, Google has proudly been a partner over the past 20 years. The inauguration of the new Ananta campus in Bengaluru represents a crucial milestone in our journey, highlighting the technological transformation driven by AI," stated Preeti Lobana, Vice President and Country Manager at Google India. She emphasized Google's objective to extend AI accessibility to more businesses and individuals, particularly in vital sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and finance. Furthermore, she highlighted the importance of collaborating closely with Indian researchers and startups to foster innovation. Google also intends to enhance its products’ utility and equip individuals with the necessary skills to navigate this AI-driven evolution, as mentioned by Ms. Lobana.
