During the day, he works as a recruiter in a private company in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. At night she transforms into an American model on a spiritual journey to India. His day job brings him security and his night activities bring him money through manipulation and blackmail. 23-year-old Tushar Singh Bisht was arrested on Friday from East Delhi's Shakarpur area for allegedly duping more than 700 women by posing as a model on a dating platform. Tushar is based in Delhi and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). For the last three years, he was working as a technical recruiter in a private company in Noida. His father is a driver, his mother is a housewife and his sister works in Gurugram. Although Tushar had a steady job, his greed and desire for women was what got him into the world of cybercrime.

Tushar created fake profiles on popular dating and social media platforms such as Bumble and Snapchat using virtual international cell phone numbers obtained through the app. She posed as a US-based freelance model visiting India, using a fictional persona with photos and stories stolen from real Brazilian models. His target was primarily women between the ages of 18 and 30, whom he befriended through these platforms. As Tushar gained her trust, he started asking for her phone numbers and intimate photos and videos under the pretext of friendship. The victim did not know that he had saved this video on his cell phone. Police said these activities were initially for personal entertainment but over time evolved into an organized extortion scheme. Police said Tushar used the images to blackmail the women and force them to hand over money. If the victim refuses their request for money, they threaten to upload explicit content online or sell it on the dark web.

According to police findings, Tushar interacted with more than 500 women on Bumble and more than 200 women on Snapchat and WhatsApp. He collected a lot of intimate content and used it to blackmail his victims. One such case came to light on December 13, 2024, when a second-year student of Delhi University lodged a complaint with the cyber police. Her ordeal began in January of the same year when she contacted Tusshar on Bumble. She introduced herself as an American model and we became friends, which later led to private chats on WhatsApp and Snapchat.

During the conversation, the victim shared personal photos and videos. When she asked for a personal meeting, he avoided her with various excuses. Soon after, he sent her a private video of himself, demanding money and threatening to refuse the product or sell it if he didn't comply. Initially, he gave in to pressure from students and paid a small amount when he explained his financial difficulties as a student. However, Dushar's insistence forced him to confess to his family and file an official complaint. A special squad has been formed under West Delhi Cyber Police ACP Arvind Yadav. A combination of technical analysis and information gathering helped the team track Dushar's activities and identify him as an accused. A quick raid in Shakarpur led to his arrest.

During the operation, the police recovered a mobile phone containing criminal data, a virtual international mobile phone number linked to his crimes, and 13 different bank credit cards. The police also seized more than 60 WhatsApp chat logs of women in Delhi and surrounding areas. During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that apart from the complainant, Tushar also blackmailed at least four other women in a similar manner. During the investigation, two bank accounts linked to Tushar were discovered. One account contained cash deposits from his victims, while the details of the second account are still being investigated.
