NITI Aayog Reconstituted with 15 Union Ministers

The Narendra Modi-led NDA government on Tuesday formed the NITI Aayog with four full-time members and 15 Union ministers, including BJP allies, as ex-officio members or special guests. According to an official release, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will continue to serve as NITI Aayog Chairman and economist Suman K. Berry will continue to serve as NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman. Scientist VK Saraswat, agricultural economist Ramesh Chand, pediatrician VK Paul and macroeconomist Arvind Virmani also remain full-time members of the government think tank. The four ex-officio members are Rajnath Singh (Defence), Amit Shah (Home), Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Agriculture) and Nirmala Sitharaman (Finance). According to the notification, the Prime Minister has approved changes in the structure of the upcoming National Institute of India (NITI Aayog). The special guests of the revamped NITI Aayog are Mr. Nitin Gadkari (Road Transport and Highways), Mr. Jagat Prakash Nada (Health), Mr. HD Kumaraswamy (Heavy Industries and Steel) and Mr. Jitan Ram Manji (Small and Medium Enterprises Company), Minister Rajiv. Ranjan Singh aka Lalan Singh (fisheries, animal husbandry, dairy).

Other special guests include: Mr. Virendra Kumar (Social Justice and Empowerment), Mr. Kinjarapu Ranmohan Naidu (Civil Aviation), Mr. Jwal Oram (Tribal Affairs), Ms. Ampoorna Devi (Women and Child Development), Chirag – Mr. Paswan. (Food Processing Industries) and Mr. Rao Inderjit Singh. (Statistics and program implementation). Kumaraswamy belongs to NDA affiliate JD-S, Manjhi belongs to Hindustani Awam Morcha, Rajiv Ranjan Singh belongs to JD-U, Naidu belongs to TDP and Paswan belongs to Lok Janshakti Party (Ram).・Belongs to Villas. The National Institute for Transforming India, better known as NITI Aayog, was set up in 2015 when the Modi government decided to abolish the 65-year-old Planning Commission. “With a vision of holistic development and innovation, NITI Aayog continues its journey of innovative initiatives that promise to redefine the future of India,” the Aayog said in a Facebook post. After a cabinet reshuffle, the government reconstituted the NITI Aayog.
