A Delhi court on Wednesday heard Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's bail plea in a money laundering case related to excise fraud and extended his remand till July 3. The problem lay in his role. Further, Advocate General SV Raju said, "The question ultimately revolves around his role." He clarified that the charge against Kejriwal for bribery worth Rs 100 crore was filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and not the ED. Kejriwal's lawyer said in that meeting, "Various allegations have been made against him but none of them are against him." Though several people were arrested in the initial stage, nothing was found about him. Earlier, Additional Sessions Judge Mukesh Kumar had adjourned the matter after the agency's Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought time to file a reply in the matter. Meanwhile, the judge on Saturday modified Kejriwal's request to allow his wife to attend the meetings of the medical board that will decide on his health and treatment through video conferencing. The judge directed the prison authorities to respond in the matter. During the hearing, the ED asked the court to adjourn the matter to June 25.

The judge, however, said that the date of the next hearing will be decided based on the convenience of the accused and not the investigating agency. "The accused is in judicial custody and not in your custody (ED), you have no role in it," the judge said: "Convenience, not yours." A Delhi court on June 5 rejected Kejriwal's plea for interim bail Deposit for medical reasons. However, the judge had directed Tihar jail authorities to take care of Kejriwal's medical care during his detention. The judge also extended Kejriwal's remand till June 19. Last Saturday, the Delhi High Court directed Sunita Kejriwal, wife of President Arvind Kejriwal, to remove records of court proceedings related to the excise policy case from social media. ASG Raju said, "Further investigation by the CBI revealed his role in the original crime." He does not claim to be innocent. He has always emphasized that this statement is not reliable. As for time, my friend did not tell the court that we have collected more material since then. They say there won't be anything after July, but that's definitely wrong. He was directed to campaign only and was not allowed to enter the CM's office or secretariat. This is not an unconditional command. “If the Supreme Security Council found him innocent, these conditions would not apply”.
