The Pune police have arrested the mother of the underage individual involved in the Porsche car accident after confirming that his blood samples had been replaced with those of his mother, as stated by the city police chief on Saturday. Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar revealed that the accident investigation uncovered the replacement of the minor's blood samples with his mother's. Two days prior, the police had informed the local court that the blood samples belonged to a woman, not the juvenile. In the early hours of May 19, two IT professionals tragically lost their lives in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, when a Porsche, reportedly driven by an intoxicated minor, collided with their two-wheeler. The 17-year-old has been sent to an observation home, while his father, Vishal Agarwal, a realtor, and grandfather, Surendra Agarwal, have been apprehended on suspicion of abducting the family's driver and coercing him to take the blame for the incident. Earlier on Friday, the Juvenile Justice Board granted the police permission to investigate the minor allegedly implicated in the Porsche collision that resulted in the deaths of two tech professionals.

The 17-year-old currently being held in the observation home had his case heard by the Juvenile Justice (JJ) board, and their plea was granted. Shailesh Balkawade, the Additional Commissioner of Police (crime), confirmed this. Arun Bhatia, a retired IAS officer, has also written a letter to the Maharashtra Human Rights Commission (MHRC) chairman, requesting the relocation of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar from his current position in the city. The police have previously taken action against two doctors and a staff member from Sassoon General Hospital for allegedly tampering with the teenager's blood samples to indicate he was not under the influence of alcohol during the accident. On Friday, the police filed a petition for the detention of Vishal Agarwal, a real estate developer, and his father (the minor's grandfather), regarding the alleged manipulation of the blood samples. The day earlier, a Judicial Magistrate (First Class) A A Pande ordered the two individuals to be remanded to judicial custody for 14 days after their police custody in the driver kidnapping case ended. According to the police, around a dozen calls were exchanged between the juvenile's father and Dr. Ajay Taware, one of the arrested doctors, while the alcohol testing samples were being collected.
