Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's recent comments about the youth of Uttar Pradesh have drawn criticism from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gandhi had claimed to have seen intoxicated individuals on the streets during his visit to the temple town as part of the ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. In response, PM Modi expressed his disapproval of Gandhi's choice of words, referring to him as the "yuvraj" of Congress' "shahi-parivar." PM Modi also pointed out that the Congress party has a history of attacking him, and now they are taking out their frustration on the youth of UP. The Prime Minister made these remarks during a public gathering in Varanasi on February 23. Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for various projects in Varanasi, with a total value exceeding Rs 13,000 crore. These projects include the construction of multiple roads, a cooking gas bottling plant, a milk processing unit, and a common facility center for silk fabric printing, which will benefit local weavers.

"Projects worth 13,000 crore have been launched and the foundation stone has been laid. These initiatives will greatly contribute to the growth of Northern India and Kashi," stated Prime Minister Modi. In an effort to bolster the textiles industry in Varanasi, he laid the foundation stone for a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). Additionally, he inaugurated a new medical college and the National Centre of Ageing at Banaras Hindu University.

Furthermore, PM Modi unveiled the Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1 and District Rifle Shooting Range. During his address to the public, he emphasized the significant acceleration of development in Varanasi over the past decade. With confidence leading up to the Lok Sabha polls, the Prime Minister declared that Uttar Pradesh will allocate 100 percent of its seats to Modi and the NDA. "Over the last 10 years, Varanasi has become a part of me," expressed PM Modi during his speech.
