The air quality index of the national capital New Delhi turned worse once again. The government of New Delhi imposed a ban on the entry of diesel buses from Haryana saying that the CNG buses would be increased. Delhi's air quality index remained around 350 from the past few days and the meteorologists announced that the situation would persist for the next few days because of the drop in the temperatures and the calm winds. The air quality index in New Delhi is named in very poor category. It is severe in the regions like Anand Vihar, Bawana and Rohini.

On October 31st, the AQI was 359 and it was 347 on October 30th, 325 on October 29th. The AQI is said to be good when it is between 0 and 50, it is satisfactory when it is between 51 and 100. It is moderate when the AQI is between 100 and 200. It is poor when the AQI is between 201 and 300. It is very poor when the AQI is between 301 and 400. It is severe when the AQI is etween 401 and 500. The Delhi government announced that the construction works will be banned for time being. The Nodal Officers are instructed to ensure strict implementation of the control measures and other plans. The government also asked the resident welfare associations to distribute heaters to prevent biomass burning.
