Tamil Nadu Governor suspends Arrested Minister from Cabinet

A big constitutional fight, Tamil Nadu State Governor Vs Tamil Nadu Government. On Thursday Tamil Nadu state Governor RN Ravi sacked arrested minister V Senthil Balaji from the council of ministers with immediate effect, alleged for abusing his power as a minister and also facing several cases of corruption including money laundering and job scam. Governor’s office (Raj Bhavan) released an official press release on June 29th stating the same. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in not less than five hours of time has kept the decision on hold, saying that the Governor has no power to suspend the minister.

DMK government will legally face Governor before the court of law. According to criminal jurisprudence, any alleged person is innocent until proven guilty. Congress MP and advocate Manish Tewari took a dig at Governor with the same, he said now the President of India should sack Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi for his decision, even before it's proven. Manish Tewari also reminds that according to Article 164, State Governor has the power to appoint Chief Minister and ministers, but without the chief minister’s advice he has no right to sack the minister from the council. Mr V Senthil was arrested two weeks ago and currently is in judicial custody.
