BJP Karnataka state secretary has filed a defamation case on Karnataka CM Siddaramaih, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Rahul Gandhi for releasing an advertisement just before elections, which is called a ‘corruption rate card’. The special court asked the trio to attend before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Criminal cases were booked under Section 499(defamation) and 500 (punishment for defamation). The case recording will be held on July 27th.

This happened for the first time, an opposition party advertised on a complete front page of a newspaper about the ruling party, and they released a corruption rate card. The election commission has warned and issued notice to the Congress party not to take such type of allegations in the form of an advertisement with out having any proof. But the damage was done for BJP. Congress has claimed that the BJP government has looted Rs 1.50lakh Cr in the four years of their governance and they released detailed information on projects, funds and misused funds.

Congress party won 136 assembly seats in that election and wiped off the saffron party from the southern part of the country. So now BJP is making their moves and trying Congress to pay for their assumptions.
