Political strategist Prashant Kishor has been in news in the recent times for various reasons. There are speculations that he would soon float a political party in Bihar. Prashant Kishor slammed them as rumors and he said that he would take the final call on the political party after meeting the people. In a press conference, Prashant Kishor announced that he will undertake a padayatra of 3000 km from Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran. The padayatra will start on October 2nd. Prashant Kishor also said that he would meet people in the next 3-4 months. Prashant Kishor will also meet various prominent personalities who can help for his idea of Jan Suraaj.

Days after Prashant Kishor declined the offer of Congress, he announced padayatra. There are differences of opinion with Congrress. Prashant Kishor has been working as a political strategist for various parties including BJP, YSRCP, Trinamool Congress and others. Prashant Kishor also supported Janata Dal of Nitish Kumar. Before the press conference, Prashant Kishor tweeted "My quest to be a meaningful participant in democracy & help shape pro-people policy led to a 10yr rollercoaster ride! As I turn the page, time to go to the Real Masters, THE PEOPLE, to better understand the issues & the path to “Jan Suraj”-Peoples Good Governance".
