With heavy rains across the nation during this monsoon season, lakes and water bodies are overflowing. States like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are lashed with heavy rains and there is huge waterlogging in the low-lying regions. Gone are the days when the officials warned of the lower water levels and impending water cuts. But the point to be noted is that we have to save water irrespective of the reported rainfall in the country. Right from homes to our offices, the usage of water should be so that it should not be wasted. The basic practice should start at home. We have to start from the root level and it should be practised in multiple levels.
We have to get involved in community projects that will help us to save water and focus on greening. There are reports that we will run out of water if not used in the right manner. There are also reports that a day would come and people would initiate wars for water. This is all in our hands and it is our duty to save water for the upcoming generations. The basic message that should be spread is that every drop of water counts. Pass over the message to the people around you and to your family members and in your locality, housing community. It should be a collective move and the entire mankind should come to a mindset to save water.
