The Chinese Army came to a conclusion that it needs more and better training and preparation. Indian Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat told this during his recent media interaction. Bipin Rawat told that the realization came after the tiff with Indian forces at the Galwan valley that took place last year near the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Bipin Rawat said that the Chinese troops and soldiers have no experience of fighting in the mountain regions of the Himalayas. Bipin Rawat responded after he was asked about the fresh activity of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) across the LAC.

The Chiese troops in June last year surprised the Indian Army at the Ladakh border and 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives including Colonel Santosh Babu. The Chinese troops never revealed the exact death count for their side though they accepted four deaths. Indian Army predicts that the Chinese fatalities are between 25 and 40. Bipin Rawat also said that the Indian troops kept a keen watch on all the activities of China across the border. He also said that Indians are experts and are well trained to fight in the region. "The Tibet Autonomous Region is quite difficult and one needs to be trained specially. Our soldiers underwent a lot of mountain warfare training" told Bipin Rawat.
