Given the current pandemic situation, India might look into receiving rolling reviews for COVID-19 vaccine. For now, the UK health regulatory is already reviewing the Oxford-AstraZeneca while aiming at receiving a quick approval for the shots.

With the help of a rolling review, clinical trials and the data to be evaluated would be completed quickly.

In India, immunogenicity trials are being conducted in order to gauge how long the antibodies are present. These trials are conducted on a small group of people. The Indian regulatory would also receive data generated from these studies.

According to a Senior official working with the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for Covid-19, Serum is specifically doing an immunogenicity trail in India.

Data generated from Phase 3 clinical trials in UK and Brazil would have to be sent for review to India. Just as how a rolling review has started in UK, if the company makes an application for an accelerated review, even India would start it soon.
