Time Bought By Adani Group To Take Over Three Airports

The Adani Group in 2019 happened to be the highest bidder for six airports that the Airport Authority had bid out. The airports he was supposed to buy are Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur and Guwahati.

As of now, the Union Cabinet is yet to accept the bids of Jaipur, Trivandrum and Guwahati. In February 2020, the Adani Group signed the takeover agreement for operations, development and maintenance of the remaining three airports.

Last year, in the month of November, for managing six AAI-run airports on public-private partnership basis an initiative was made by the Government. Further, the AAI aims at providing world-class infrastructure and services to stakeholders.

Now that the pandemic has taken a hit everywhere and flights are not operating, most airlines have cut salaries and laid off employees to manage expenses.

The government started domestic air travel last month after a 60-day lockdown. Every possible safety measure is taken to stay safe and not let the infection spread.

Hardeep Puri, civil aviation minister has assured to start the International air travel after looking into several other aspects.
