The constant increasing figures of Covid-19 cases have left India in a state of emergency. With the numbers gradually increasing, it isn’t surprising that several states have already issued a state of emergency to contain the spread.

Telangana reached a peak by reporting 8 new cases overnight, all confirmed in Hyderabad. These 8 new confirmed cases have taken the total count to 13 infected people in the state at the moment.

Prior to these 8 confirmed cases, the last confirmed case was of a 22 year old student who returned from Scotland on March 15, 2020 and started showcasing the symptoms of the condition. The rest of the confirmed cases included seven Indonesians who are part of a religious group.

The group of Indonesians were picked up from Karimnagar alongside another person who tested positive for the virus. The group were stationed in Karimnagar for three consecutive days after returning from Delhi.

All the 8 patients tested positive for the virus have been kept in isolation in Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad.

The infected individuals have travelled from Delhi to Ramagundam in Sampark Kranti on March 13 in the S9 coach. Every single passenger in that coach and train have been advised to take necessary precaution and approach the government officials in case there is something amiss about their health.

The 22 year old BBA student in Scotland went to his home and interacted with three family members and started showing the symptoms of the virus the next morning. The family members have been advised to self quarantine and look for symptoms as well.

The officials reporting for this case have also mentioned that they have asked the people in contact with him to monitor themselves and even the flight passengers are being contacted to keep a check on their part.

With the consistent rise in the cases of the positive Covid-19, the Telangana government has decided to re-examine the health status of all the foreign officials who have arrived in the state since January 15, 2020.

The airports have been on high alert and the officials in the airport have been advised to take care of the possible suspects and register self quarantining for them in case they showcase similar symptoms just for the sake of precautionary measures.

Aside from that, eight people have also been identified as primary contacts for the infected Indonesian victims and they are being home quarantined at the moment. The district officials in Karimnagar are now looking out for the secondary contacts to further contain the disease and the spread of the virus.

Even the mosque that the Indonesians stayed in March 14 had been fumigated and sanitised to further contain the spread of the disease. The locals have been advised to not visit the mosque for public health measures for a few days.
