The President of Turkey Tayyip Erdogan has made a visit to Islamabad where he had compared the situation in Kashmir with the Gallipoli campaign of the World War II and has also extended the support to Pakistan. Tayyip Erdogan has termed the actions made by India in recent times as being unilateral.
Excluding Pakistan, the other countries who have been vocal critics to the decision that has been taken by India regarding the Kashmir issue which was to end the special status of Kashmir in the previous year include Turkey and Malaysia. This has in turned led India to place the region in a lockdown which has continued for more than six months.
The government of India has decided to end the special status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir last year and it has also made the decision regarding the trifurcation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and it has divided the state into two union territories with Jammu and Kashmir being as one union territory and the union territory being Ladakh.
