Bilateral Defence Meetings held with Qatar’s deputy PM and South Korean Counterpart

Rajnath Singh who is the defence minister of India has held talks with the minister of state for defence of Qatar and also with his counter part of South Korea separately.

The discussions that have been made separately with the two countries were about the ways of ramping up the bilateral defence cooperation of India with the two countries.

The delegation- level talks that have been held between the defence minister of India Rajnath Singh and the deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs of Qatar Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah. The commitment that has been made by the two counter parts have been reiterated in order to strengthen the bilateral defence cooperation which includes the defence industry relationship, as said in a statement.

The Tri- Service Guard of Honour has also been inspected by the visiting minister who has been received by Shripad Naik who is the Minister of State for Defence, before the bilateral meeting that has been scheduled with Rajnath Singh.

It has been said that the delegations of Qatar would be paying a visit to the DefExpo which is being held in Lucknow which is a capital of Uttar Pradesh. The DefExpo has been scheduled between 5th- 9th of February.

A bilateral meeting has also been held by Rajnath Singh with Joeng Kyeongdoo who is the Defence Minister of South Korea and it has been said that the discussions on enhancing the bilateral security cooperation and the collaboration in the defence industry and research and development have been made during the bilateral meeting.

A road map for the cooperation of the defence industries between India and South Korea has also been exchanged after the bilateral meeting.

“The road map lists a number of possible areas of cooperation, including research and development. It also promotes investments in Defence Industrial Corridors in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu,” as said in a statement.

The views regarding the regional security situation has also been exchanged by the Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh and the Defence Minister of South Korea Joeng Kyeongdoo.
