The US President Donald Trump may Visit India from Feb 21-24

The President of United States Donald trump is said to visit India in the near time and it is said to be scheduled between February 21 and February 24, says a source familiar with the matter.

The source added saying that the President Trump would be a part of a joint public function with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Although the finals program is not yet sealed the joint public function is said to be held at Ahmedabad.

The government of United States has booked the ITC Maurya Hotel at Delhi for the forthcoming visit of the President Donald Trump from February 21 to February 24, which includes the presidential suite of the hotel, as said to the HindustanTimes by the officials with direct knowledge of the arrangement that are being made. The ITC Maurya has also hosted the other Presidents of the United States which included Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

Pakistan is intensifying its efforts in order to attack India at the session of UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva from 24th of February to 30th of March. The Indian officials have said that Pakistan is expected to raise other topics rather than only the abrogation of Article 370. It says that topics like the Citizenship (Amendment) Act which is a all- India National Register of Citizens that has been proposed and also the National Population Register 2020 would be added to the list as they would argue saying that the Muslims in India are under threat in the Modi regime.

The Indian officials have added saying that Pakistan would try to get an Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) resolution in its favour as Malaysia and Turkey who are said to be the new allies of Pakistan are not a part of the 47- member body.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi who is the foreign minister is expected to be heading the Pakistan delegation at the UN Human Rights Council and the Indian counter will be lead by Secretary (West) Vikas Swarup.

The officials have said that the Trump’s visit to India would be focusing on the trade deal and the discussion regarding the China, the Indo- Pacific, Afghanistan, Iran and emanating terrorism from Pakistan would be made with the trade deal expected to be the highlight of the Trump’s visit to India.

The officials have added saying that the expectations of India from the meet is the reinstatement of the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) scheme which allowed zero tariffs on the exports worth $5.6 billion to the United States. The retaliatory tariffs of India are said to be rolled back after the withdrawal of GSP.

Although the United States wants India to buy around USD $6 billion worth of farm goods so as to cut down the trade deficits, new Delhi is wanting to get the assurances regarding the oil or shale gas in order to strike the deal.

However, along with the exchange in the political notes on the global issues, India, the US and the ASEAN countries are looking forward in order to ensure the freedom of navigation in the South China Sea as well as the Indo- Pacific.
