North India experiences strong earthquake tremors on Friday evening. Several parts of North India which including Punjab and Delhi-NCR felt earthquake tremors.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake of 6.3 magnitude  struck at 5:09 pm with its epicentre 250km from Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The estimated depth of the occurance of earthquake is 190 km.

The tremors were mostly felt in Pakistan and several places in north India. Several parts of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh at 5:13 pm felt the tremors for several seconds and the reports have said that people were running out of the buildings from several parts of the country.

The Paris-based European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the tremors were felt from Tashkent to New Delhi, a distance of nearly 1,500 km.
