To follow up on the previous discussion that happened between Narendra Modi, Prime Minister and Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan about the bilateral security and defense cooperation during the 13th India-Japan Annual Summit that took place in Japan in October 2018, the 2+2 ministerial inauguration to happen today.

There will be representatives from India and Japan to head the inauguration. From India, Rajnath Singh, the defense Minister, Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister, will represent the delegation. From Japan, the Foreign Affairs Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and Minister of Defence Taro Kono will represent the delegation.

To deepen the ‘India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership’, the 2+2 ministerial meeting gives both the countries an opportunity to monitor the status and share their views on making the defense and security stronger between India and Japan.

Besides, with an intention to achieve their common objective of peace, prosperity and well being in both countries, they will speak about the Indo-Pacific region and how both countries want to invest their efforts under India’s ‘Act East Policy’ and Japan’s ‘Free and Open Indo-Pacific Vision’.

Next month, there will be an India-Japan Summit and Abe is set to visit India. This 2+2 dialogue will be of great success.
