While whole India will be hosting tri-color on August 15 marking the 73rd Indian Independence Day, Pakistan flags will be flying half-mast in residential areas and government buildings owing to the observance of ‘black day’ in protests against India’s decision on Kashmir.

August 14, the day Pakistan celebrates its Independence Day, will be observed in solidarity with the Kashmiris and their "just struggle for their right to self-determination", a government notification said.

The move by Pakistan comes days after Indian government revoked Article 370, which provided special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and subsequently, National Security Council expelled the Indian envoy, decided to suspend bilateral trade, and review bilateral arrangements.
