A line of severe storms rumbled through Northeast Ohio. The National Weather Service said that the heavy rainfall continues in the Akron area through Thursday and the storms continue till the weekend.

About 1 to 2 inches of rain could be recorded by this Thursday afternoon and Friday is expected to be dry.

Many roads in the region are closed due to flooding and motorists waited for hours to retrieve water logged cars.

The car dispatchers in Akron said that they are responding very fast to the situation and at a point of time, they found difficult to respond to 25 cars at a time which were flooded up to the windows.

The Akron Forest Lodge Park was flooded with water and some of the trees are completely under water. There were no reports of injuries in the region, but countless homes and cars have been damaged due to flooding.

The National Weather Service storm precipitation map shows, about 3 inches of rainfall is recorded from Lodi through East Akron. Fire Crew in Akron and Barberton were busy in receiving phone calls and helping residents who reported water in their basements.
