As the Chinese President Xi Jinping holds meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Tibetan refugees have been holding protests in Delhi. Amid these protests, Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has stated that the problems of Tibet are also India's problems.
The Dalai Lama hopes that the problems of the Tibetan refugees will also get highlighted and solved during the talks between the two neighbouring heads of governments.
He says that problems can be understood only when there are talks. The Dalai Lama stressed the importance of mutual trust as the basis of Sino-Indian relations.
Hundreds of Tibetan refugees had staged a protest in the capital city and clashed with police, just outside the venue of the talks between the Indian and the Chinese leaders.
According to the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan issue will have to be solved - sooner or later. And the solution to the problem has to be through understanding, which can be done through talks only. The problems related to Tibet cannot be solved by force.
The Tibetan spiritual leader also praised the Chinese President as being "open-minded" and said that he can learn a lot from India.
