With an aim to force the pressurize the United States over the Devyani Khobragade case, the Indian government has postponed further energy dialogues with US for an indefinite period. The US has also not yet granted the G-visa to Khobragade, extending full diplomatic immunity, even as the January 13 deadline for the preliminary hearing is fast approaching in the visa fraud case.

According to reports, New Delhi has cancelled the next energy dialogue with US energy secretary Ernest Moniz. Officially there is no word over the cancellation, but a source from the US administration reportedly said that Secretary Moniz would not be traveling to India next week. He further added that talks are on with India about the next feasible date and that the Dialogue will be held on a date that is mutually convenient for the two countries.

US is trying hard to make the arrangement look like the postponement of dates has been mutually agreed by the two parties, but for India it's clearly following the stand of, 'there cannot be business as usual'. As of now, it seems the energy dialogue has been postponed indefinitely.
