World champions Australia will host India in a series of five ODI matches along with three T20 matches in January 2016. Earlier in 2015 ICC World Cup semi final, India, former world champions, lost to Australia.

Cricket Australia (CA) also announced that all the internationals will be hosted at the Sydney Cricket Ground in New South Wales state, while the Sydney's Olympic stadium have been hosting all T20s since 2010.

Cricket Australia executive general manager, Mike McKenna, was quoted by AFP as saying that they want to build on the great momentum of success of the World Cup co-hosted with New Zealand earlier in 2015.

"Following the World Cup, we are determined that local Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Afghan, Sri Lankan and other overseas-born fans who packed Australia's grounds with good-humored noise and color are able to maintain their passion for cricket as part of their adopted Australian lifestyles," he added.

India has a jam packed schedule ahead this year. The team is currently in Zimbabwe tour to play a series of three ODIs, where the first match is scheduled to play on 10 July 2015. In the month of August, men in blue will leave to Sri lanka, which will be followed by a home series between September and November against South Africa. In December, India and Pakistan are scheduled to play, though the things are not decided yet.
